My Dad Is Not a Superhero

My Dad Is Not a Superhero is a female empowerment story that highlights the father-daughter relationship. The overall tension is,  “Is my dad a superhero?” The kids wonder, just what are her dad’s abilities because they are clearly beyond hers.

Kids wonder how capable their parents are, and it is a tough, perhaps disappointing lesson to learn that your parents are just people, too. Way more capable people than a child, but not omnipotent. It’s an important lesson.  Kids can learn to appreciate their parents have the same needs they do – food, water, potty, sleep, fun, etc. Making a sandwich is not simple. It requires, time, skills to use a knife, time, effort, and – most definitely – love.
